Dear prospective Bulldog cross country runners,
I hope your summer is off to a great start! I am excited for the summer as well and the opportunity to work with you for the upcoming cross country season.
If you don’t know already, summer conditioning has begun. We are meeting at Lewis Park at 7 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Whether you’ve been running twice a day every day since school got out, or you haven’t run a step, I would encourage you to make it a priority to run this summer. Plain and simple, it will make you a better runner!
Our runs from the park will go anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, depending upon your individual readiness. I would also encourage you to run on the days other than Monday and Wednesday; if you’re not sure how much you should be running, start with 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Running in the morning is recommended over running in the evening. It’s cooler, the wind is usually blowing less intensely in the morning, and best of all, you’re done for the day! Make it a habit to get up and run early enough to get your other chores and responsibilities done for the day.
If you have any questions, please contact either Coach Sally Nichols or myself, Coach Wilson through this web page. Thanks, we hope to see you at the park!
