WHS will be focusing on Math, English, Social Studies, and Science courses working towards recovering credit to meet graduation requirements. Students who failed a semester course from this year or any previous year may attend. Summer School is open to all current high schoolers.
The dates for Summer School are: June 1 - June 25. Classes will be held Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and a sack lunch will be provided daily. This year, the WHS summer school session will be held at the Wheatland Middle School.
Social Distancing Parameters
We will need to operate by the social distancing criteria as established by the State of Wyoming. Students and Teachers will be in groups no larger than 25 and will be in individual classrooms. Students and staff will need to wear a mask and they should bring them with them each and every day, if we cannot maintain a six foot distance between students or until otherwise notified. Temperatures will be taken upon arrival at school for all individuals (staff included). The classrooms will be cleaned when students leave the classroom for the session. We encourage you to send your student with their personal bottle of hand sanitizer so they have them with them. We will have some sanitizer in the classrooms as well.
Students need to attend every day. Daily attendance is required and will be taken. Students are allowed two absences (unless prearranged with Mr. Sandlian). Students who miss more than the two days or are unexcused will be dismissed from summer school. If you must be gone, please communicate with Mr. Sandlian.
A sack lunch will be provided for free for all students wanting to take a lunch with them when they are dismissed at noon.. They will need to exit the property after receiving this lunch so please plan accordingly.
WHS behavior expectations defined in the student handbook will be in place. Discipline issues will not be tolerated and school discipline will be administered. WHS and WMS will be combined in the same building. It is the expectation that all WHS students will act as role models for younger students when and if interactions take place.
