WHS Athletics/Activities
Welcome to the Wheatland High School Athletics/Activities page. At Wheatland High School, we envision a school where students and staff are leaders in the school and community. While academics are our first priority we believe that activities are a vital part of the overall educational process in order to help our students to CLIMB The PEAK. Athletics and activities continue to develop character, attitude, and leadership skills for a well-rounded educational experience.

WHS Activities Now Available via Streaming
As an exciting service to our students and community, PCSD 1 and Wheatland High School have joined the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Sports Network. This will allow the district and WHS to broadcast via streaming video any activity or event from the WHS gym. To access Bulldog events, a quicklink is available on the left column of every one of our sports and activities webpages. Simply click that link to access all scheduled broadcasts.
Live broadcasts of sporting events on the NFHS Network usually require viewers to purchase a pass to watch. The pass model enables schools to participate in the School Broadcast Program for free and provides an opportunity for the school to raise money. Due to the generosity of Banner Health/Platte County Memorial Hospital who have agreed to sponsor the subscription fee, all events broadcast over the Bulldog Network will be free of charge FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS!
In additon to the streaming of events, there are other benefits for our students according to NFHS. “The NFHS Network School Broadcast Program provides a platform for students to learn about production and broadcast journalism. The program gives students an unprecedented opportunity to gain hands-on video production and on-camera experience. Participation in the program helps prepare students for college and professional careers in the journalism industry.
Benefits to the community include, “a platform to showcase excellence and to enhance their connection with the community. Participating schools have a dedicated school-branded channel that makes reaching alumni, friends, and family outside the local area easy. Broadcasting school events is a unique way to increase school spirit throughout the community”, according to NFHS.
Future expansion of the program could allow for broadcasting of other events outside the WHS gym with student-led productioin of content.
